The Terriers took a first inning lead after Ryan Campbell (Eastern Illinois) doubled and came around to score on a Brad Miller (Ball State) single. The lead would not last as the Canton Terriers responded in the second with three consecutive two out hits to tie the game 1-1. The score would remain tied until Mike Branon (University of Rio Grande) hit a 2-run homerun over the 375 foot sign in dead center field. The home run would end up being the game-winner for Stark County.

Terriers Win Exhibition Opener
The Stark County Terriers opened exhibition play by halting the nine game winning streak of the Cleveland Bulls 6-1 on Saturday afternoon, June 4 at Joe Gilhousen Field in Canton.
The Bulls, winners of 13 of their first 14 games took an early 1-0 lead when catcher Andy Johnson doubled off Terriers starter Chad Wagler (Kent State) to the gap in left center scoring Stipe Miocic who had previously singled. The run would be the only one allowed by Wagler in four innings of work.
The Terriers would tie the game in the seventh inning when Brandon Caipen (Youngstown State) singled to start the inning and would eventually come around to tie the game 1-1 on a wild pitch. In the eighth inning Steve Burnich (UNC-Asheville) led off with a single and would score on a double to the gap by Ryan Campbell (Eastern Illinois). Burnich ducked under the tag of the Bulls catcher to put Stark County ahead for good. The offense would then string together six consecutive hits and post five runs in the eighth to lead 6-1.
