Terriers Team History

The Stark County Terriers Baseball Club, founded by local businessman Dennis Biery, joined the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League in 1999.  During their 6 year existence, the Terriers have been represented by college baseball players from Canada and 18  U.S. states as well as 52 different colleges and universities.  Since their inception, the Terriers have played their home games at the GlenOak High School Baseball Stadium.

General Manager Greg Trbovich oversees the recruiting of college baseball players for the Terriers.  Once a player has been signed to a contract with Terriers, they are assigned a host family to live with during their stay in Stark County.  The Terriers also find summer employment for each player who comes to Stark County.

The Terriers have qualified for the Great Lakes League post season tournament every year since 2001.  In 2001, the Terriers advanced to the league championship game.  Since 1999, 18 former Terriers have been drafted by Major League baseball teams, while 4 others former players have signed contracts with Independent teams.

The Terriers captured their first Great Lakes League Championship in 2005 by defeating the Columbus All-Americans in Columbus by a 2-1 score in 10 innings.

The Terriers will return to play in 2007 after taking the 2006 summer off.
